Adventure Activity Programme FAQs

What should I bring with me?

In addition to bringing a sense of adventure, please come in loose clothing such as leggings/trackies and other thin layers. If you plan to do a watersport activity such as Coasteering, please come with your swimsuit/shorts on prior to arrival so you are ready to put on wetsuit gear we give you on top. We do not take responsibility for your possessions other than your change of clothing so you must make suitable arrangements for the security of your equipment. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty water or juice to drink also.

Do you have changing rooms?

At our adventure training days, we set up male and female changing tents at our base at Victoria Park for Coasteering activity. We also have changing ponchos for those that prefer to go a bit alfresco. Most of our other activity locations are at the mountains, lochs, rivers and the coast, therefore, there are not always changing rooms available but remember we have private changing tents and ponchos to keep you decent. We also know where all the closest facilities are should you need to spend a penny.

Will you take my photo and use it for social media or marketing?

We only use photos where all parties consent to their use for promotional purposes. Great photos really help everyone to see what our activities involve and are a strong visual attraction for everyone. It's a great way to show everyone what a great time you’ve been having and you will have a record of what you have been doing! If you prefer us not to please let your unit commander know. Often, we take pictures which do not capture recognisable facial features. Any doubts we are happy for you to decide on images we use for promotion.

Where do the activities take place?

Our Arbroath based activities will run from our meet point at Victoria Park next to the famous Arbroath cliffs. We will choose the best locations and routes for the session depending on multiple factors such as experience, weather conditions and desired outcomes. If we have a stated a specific location we shall endeavour to go there, however occasionally we need to change the venue to suit our needs.

Do I need to be able to swim to take part in water-based activities?

For swimming please refer to Army Cadet Guidance. For Coasteering non swimmers cannot participate in this activity.
