Burn Walk Activity
Our burn walk adventure is a really popular activity. You will visit a popular venue we use in Newtyle where once kitted up with your wetsuit, wet gloves, wet boots and helmet, you will navigate upstream and overcome obstacles, waterfalls, jumps and fast flowing water sections throughout the journey to the top of the stream.
Essential Information
For your Adventure Day with Ancrum, you will meet us at our base at Ancrum Outdoor Centre for 9am start. A Parent or Guardian must attend the Centre to complete registration process and confirm emergency information is correct at drop off time and inform admin team of pick up arrangements for 5pm. Our instructors will greet you, explain what is going to happen and then get you kitted out for your day of adventure. They will provide you with a wetsuit, wet gloves, wet boots, wet socks, buoyancy aid and privacy changing gown. You will get a yaksak bag to keep your clothes, towel and packed lunch in, don’t forget to bring plenty to drink. When ready to leave the Centre, your group will head off in one of our mini buses to your chosen adventure destination. If you are not a good traveller please make sure the instructor is informed. Sometimes at the end of an activity, the instructors may stop off at a shop / café for a drink or ice cream prior to the journey back to the Centre, therefore, if you want to buy anything bring a pound or two, remember this is optional!
